Lakes Entrance
The Lakes Entrance is best known for its location on the edge of Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meet the Southern Ocean. The area is a perfect place for exploring the region. Hire a boat for the day, or join a chartered fishing, scenic cocktail or dinner cruise along the Gippsland Lakes. Other ways of enjoying Australia’s largest inland network of waterways is by catamaran or paddleboat in the summer. Surf or simply relax at Ninety Mile Beach. Walk to Jemmy’s Point Lookout for spectacular views of the town, lakes and the entrance. Eat gourmet food at local cafés and restaurants specialising in fresh seafood. Sample great wine at Wyanga Park Winery, visit the historic Nyerimilang Homestead and Park and the beautiful Lake Tyers Township and Forest Park. Explore the Buchan Caves, Raymond Island and the nearby town of Metung. Lakes Entrance is approximately four hours from Melbourne and is a great place for a family fun adventure on the water.
