I loved my 3 days at Grindelwald Lodge. The house is Swiss style and very spacious, comfortable and homey. The bed in my room was very comfortable too. Everything was clean and neat. In the lounge there are many DVDs, books and magazines to borrow. The gardens are green and well looked after and the view over the Tamar Valley is outstanding. The location is very quiet in the best part of Grindelwald and I thoroughly recommend the walk around the big central lake. The lodge also has a very inviting, heated pool. The hostess Helen is a very warm person and very accommodating. I really enjoyed my chats with her and her husband Michael (who has a dry wit) and also her elderly mum Lorna. Helen and Michael have lived in a few countries overseas and have many interesting tales to tell. They were also great to my 2 dogs, who were allowed to sleep in my room. They happily shared the large fully fenced yard adjacent to the house with the resident dog Abbey. I will definitely return, and may even bring my girlfriends next time to share the self-contained Swiss cottage, adjacent to the main house.

The accommodation and hospitality were exceptional. Helen (manager) was very friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating. She spoilt as with her home cooking. The accommodation exceeded all our expectations. We would love to return to Grindlewald,Tasmania just to stay at this accommodation. Cheers Fiona
