  • We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at Kenya Cottage. The breakfast basket was generous and it was one of those properties where anything is provided and more! The beds were comfortable and I loved the fireplace. A real home away from home. Highly recommend!

  • This is an outstanding property, and in fact it is the third time we have stayed at Kenya Cottage. I could not recommend this beautiful cottage highly enough - I hate leaving it to come home. Everything is catered for and it is situated in a perfect location. Can't wait for next year.

  • We fell in love with this cottage as soon as we walked in. It was a shame we only had two nights there, as it would have been nice to just sit down and enjoy.

  • Kenya Cottage was beautiful. I could move in there permanently! I enjoyed the woodfire heater, the garden view from the kitchen window and the peace and tranquility. The period decor and furnishings were tasteful. The breakfast provisions were delicious. Also the townsfolk of the little town of Deloriane were very friendly.

  • The attention to detail. The intimacy and warmth of the lounge room, the comfortable and large bed rooms, the well fitted out kitchen and the charming garden. The whole package makes for a restful and delightful stay in a beautiful part of the world. Especially beautiful in winter. Alan and Rosemary June 2010

We appreciated the quietness of the location whilst still be close to amenities. I will definitely stay there again next visit - and have no hesitation recommending it to others. Thanks for a great holiday home away from home.

  • Beautiful cottage that has retained the charm of its origins (loved the ceiling roses!) whilst providing all the modern day comforts. Location is excellent in regards to the proximity to town & Cradle Mountain & was provided with SO many provisions for a couple of breakfasts we had sufficient for lunches too! Cottage is very well set up to cater for all ages & family/friend combinations. Overall excellent value for money, divine cottage & gardens & a must stay if ever heading this way again! • Deloraine is very good town to base yourself when exploring the north west of Tasmania. It is a beautiful town in its own right, with a wealth of arty stores (and towns people!). Kenya cottage is a gorgeous, lovingly decorated and well appointed house. The breaky provisions were plentiful, and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. I really appreciated the laundry, clothes line and dryer. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house.

  • My family and I really love this cottage. It is well-appointed with 3 bedrooms and a living room with a real working fireplace! The house is located one street away from the river which is really picturesque. The town is about 10 mins walk away. We got really substantial breakfast provisions included in the tariff. Yummy! We'll definitely stay here again.

  • Comfortable house in pleasant surroundings-garden very pleasant spot to relax in.

    4/5 by , QLD - October 2009

  • I can't begin to tell you how much we love your Kenya Cottage - we had the best holiday we have had in years and really struggled to pack our bags and go home. You have certainly made a home away from home with every comfort provided for and we were warm, cosy and comforatable for the entire length of our stay. We can't wait to get back to there as our stay was way too short. We also fell in love with Deloraine and the locals and had a few fun nights in one or other of the pubs. Each day we ventured out to check out the surrounds and found the market at the Showgrounds and bought some great local produce, we also walked to Liffey Falls and took some amazing photos. However, the "jewel in the crown" for me, was our day trip to Cradle Mountain - what a magical place - cold with plenty of snow, but breathtakingly beautiful. The road to Cradle Mountain was fantastic and we stopped at many places on the way to just take in the views and the peace and quiet. Norelle and Ian, Vic Sept '09

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kenya Cottage. What a lovely surprise to arrive hot, tired and dirty at this beautifully restored cottage set in a lovely cottage garden. Our two nights spent here was a highlight of our Tasmanian trip. The accommodation was roomy, clean, comfortable and furnished with everything anybody could possibly need. And oh! the beds and pillows! What bliss!! Also appreciated was the breakfast hamper waiting for us when we picked up the key. In all, a wonderful experience and extremely good value.

  • It was a pleasant change from motel rooms to have a comfortable homely cottage with lots of room and a nice garden. We arrived late at night and it was good to settle in to such a comfortable, clean cottage. We were starving so cooked bacon and egg sandwishes from goodies in the fridge, as if at home. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms very pleasant without being overdone. The owners of this property take pains to ensure good food is available for breakfast, the cottage is spotless and homely.

  • My friend and I have just had another short break and have been comparing 'Kenya Cottage' with our last accommodation. It would be very hard to fault 'Kenya Cottage.' Everything you could think of was there for us and we enjoyed Deloraine and surrounding areas. It was a very pleasant experience, which will be hard to better. We plan to have another visit in the next couple of months.

Quiet and pleasant surrounds and close to many local attractions. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for family sized accommaditons at a very reasonable price.

  • The cottage was beautifully appointed and the location was ideal (quiet but near the main shopping area). For us, the single most beautiful feature is the wood fireplace, which we had a lot of fun starting each evening when it turned cold. The host was very thoughtful - the welcome basket he prepared for us was extremely generous. In fact it lasted us two days! The only issue I had was that payment had to be made in cash. As we were foreigners (Singaporens) we quickly found out that dollar transfers would have incurred taxes etc that would have added to the total cost of the cottage. Fortunately, the host finally accepted credit card details for comfirmation - but we still had to pay in cash upon arrival. Other than this, the stay was fantastic. And Deloraine is beautiful.
