With its majestic Georgian façade and towering chimney, Bowerbank Mill is a wondrous sight to behold. In 1853 an enterprising widow built a flour mill in the hauntingly beautiful Meander Valley near the Colonial village of Deloraine.
The 155 year old mill now operates as a world class heritage Bed and Breakfast, Fine Art Gallery and Gift shop. Due to the diligence and love of previous and current owners, (your hosts Anne & J.D.) Bowerbank Mill maintains its impressive architecture — thick stone walls, pit-sawn beams, and log fire in the six-storey chimney — all create an imposing and charming appearance.
Bowerbank Mill B&B offers a poetic marriage of nostalgia and 20th century comfort with emphasis on excellent but unobtrusive service. In each cottage, suite, or room your hosts have recreated the atmosphere of an early settlers' family home with genuine antique furniture, paintings and trinkets brought as reminders of a former life. Each cottage and suite has its own authentic individuality with sweeping views over the pretty gardens and country.
Relaxation begins the moment you arrive. Browse through our Fine Art and Craft Gallery and savour a port in your cottage beside a blazing log fire. Next morning, awake to the smell of a gourmet continental breakfast delivered to your door. Explore the area, hiking mountain trails, fish for trout, visit caves, vineyards, cheese-makers, raspberry farms, national trust properties, antique shops and galleries.
